Important information from the Meet Director for Saturday's GGG Meet

Hi All,

Go Gobble Gobble (GGG) is just a few days away. I hope you are looking forward to it as much as I am. Please read everything in its entirety and let me know if you have any questions.

Please ensure that your families get this information. Also encourage them to like the GSJSL FB Page as we will be posting information to that page. @gsjsl

There are no spectators at this event. However, both sessions will be live streamed on the Green Whales TV YouTube Channel. Many parents visited our local Brigantine restaurants during the last Dual meet and watched the live streaming of the event. The direct link to each session’s live streaming will be posted on the GSJSL FB Page prior to each session.

Each year we have a food drive associated with this event. We have partnered with the Brigantine True Spirit Coalition this year. All nonperishable items will be accepted and appreciated. If you have frozen turkeys that you would like to donate, please give us a heads-up so that we can provide transport right away to the True Spirit Coalition.

EVERYONE…all athletes, volunteers, officials, coaches, etc must fill out the GGG Contact Tracing Google Form. This will be checked at the door BEFORE anyone is permitted into the facility. https://forms.gle/DionNtNRuqYy2S7H8 Anyone who has not completed this form will be required to do so before entering the facility. The results will be checked by a GWI representative. I will be sending the report to each coach on Thursday to let them know who has completed the form so you can follow-up.

WARMUP/START TIME CHANGES...due to the date change, venue change, and number of athletes we had to make a few adjustments to the warmups and start times. PUMPKIN ROLL Relay!

Sari will be having a coaches meeting prior to Session 1 to discuss the pumpkin roll.

The Pumpkin Relay is open to all athletes/teams. Each relay will have swimmers from varying teams and age groups.

  • After check-ins a count will be taken for the number of athletes in the meet by team.
  • The number will be divided by 4 lanes to make equal teams numbered.
  • Popsicle sticks with an assigned lane will be given to each Head Coach to disburse amongst their athletes.
  • Each swimmer will report to the lane on their popsicle stick.
  • Any lane with an uneven number of athletes will have one swimmer go twice; this will be determined by a Green Whales, Inc. staff member.
  • All athletes will start in the water.
  • The pumpkin may not be thrown.
  • Session 1: Athletes will push the pumpkin 25 yards (1 lap).
  • Session2: The PUMPKIN ROLL Relay for Session 2 has been moved to the end of the meet. Athletes will push the pumpkin 50 yards (2 laps).
  • A special prize will be awarded to each member of the winning lane.
  • Our snack bar will be available during both sessions and for about 30 minutes after the 2nd session. Hospitality will be provided to all officials, coaches, and volunteers. The Brigantine Bistro is providing Thanksgiving Sliders for our event.

We will be using Meet Mobile throughout the meet for free. It can be found using “2021 Go Gobble Gobble Invitational”.
